Here is an unmodified Angenieux Type 65 projection lens. These are, I believe, a four element, two group design, with a cemented doublet at the front and a doublet at the rear. They are actually quite sharp in the center, with a Petzval-like swirl developing near the edges. With the absurd prices of Angenieux lenses, these 35mm projection lenses are still quite a bargain in my opinion. This lens has an effective aperture of around f1.5, with quite nice bokeh to my eye.
