This was the standard lens for Leica cameras from 1939 to 1953, preceded by the Summar and followed by the Summicron. It is a collapsible lens, beautifully made, with a very nice (IMO) bokeh, which is a bit softer than many of the German normal lenses that I have (Domiron, Iscomat, Primoplan) but still with plenty of character. I don’t use this lens often, preferring the character of the Leotax Leonon 50mm f2 lens, also with Leica thread mount.
