Though the Aires 4.5cm f1.5 is justly famous for its bokeh, its little brother is no slouch. The bokeh is not like that of the f1.5; it has a completely unique character, as bold as that of any other normal lens around f2. Add to that the fact that it can be had very cheaply (though it needs to be removed from a fixed rangefinder camera and adapted). Once that is done, you have a definite bokeh monster, with a look unlike any other. A final interesting note is that it is fairly easy to find the front tele and wide converters that were sold with the cameras. I don’t find the wide adapter compelling, but the tele adapter gives wild and quirky results, which I will show in the gallery below.
