I think what is immediately noticeable about my fractals is that I love color and form and the illusion of sensuous 3D lighting on the fractal elements. These fractals are mostly made with what are called “orbit trap” coloring algorithms. I am very math challenged, but I must say that I am proud of the algorithms I wrote to accomplish what I wanted to do with the forms. While much of it was cut and paste adaptation of what others developed, I did figure out how to define the elements in a way that allows these algorithms to be used in deep zooms into the Mandelbrot set, which I did not find possible with previous orbit trap colorings.
Fractals are not to everyone’s taste, but if you are a fractal fancier, I hope you enjoy these. Please click on the “Fractals 1” and “Fractals 2” pages to view the galleries.
